I Met God In The Morning

O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary. Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips: When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches. Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice. – Psalm 63:1-7

I met God in the morning, when the day was at its best
And His presence rose like sunrise
And in His glory, my soul was blessed
All day long His presence lingered, All day long He stayed with me
And we sailed in perfect calmness, Over a very troubled sea

Other ships were blown and battered
Other ships were so distressed
But the winds that seemed to drive them
Brought to us a peace and rest

Then I thought of other mornings
Of how He’d had His hand on me
That still small voice to me was speaking
Giving me a perfect peace

So I think I know the secret
Learned from many a troubled way
You must seek God in the morning
If you want Him through the day

I met God in the morning when the day was at its best

  3. Beautiful pictures and thoughts to go with your scriptures. It is a blessing starting our day out with the knowledge of God’s presence with us. He is always with us but if we don’t take at least a moment, we tend to forget through the day.
